Believe it or not, coffee isn’t the only way to get your daily pick me up. Although coffee is extremely effective when it comes to providing energy throughout the day, it can be too effective at times. Coffee can cause intense headaches, digestive issues, and that dreaded “jittery” feeling if a person has consumed too much. However, there are natural coffee alternatives that not only taste great but keep you going all day without the negative side effects.

Yerba Mate

This South American indigenous plant is the perfect substitute for your morning cup of coffee. Yerba Mate is made by taking the dried leaves and twigs from the plant and boiling them with water. The drink tends to have a strong earthy taste so it might take some time getting used to. Not only is this drink full of caffeine, but it can also help boost your mood and is commonly used to fight depression and fatigue.

You might have already heard of the many health benefits of kombucha, but it also makes for a great coffee alternative.
